of Production Operators
1. What does the start of your working day look like?
We start every working day by checking the production schedules for each machine on the shop floor. Based on these schedules, we work out what materials will be needed during the shift and in what order they will need to be weighed out. We then use the company’s app to check the location of the materials. These are stored in various sections of the production hall and often on shelves too, so it’s important to know exactly where they are. Thanks to the QR code system, we can quickly locate the required materials and prepare them for transport.
2. What are your main duties during the day?
Our main task is to ensure the timely supply of materials to production lines and machines in accordance with the current production plan. In practice, this involves locating materials on the shop floor, scanning them using the company’s app, and then transporting them to the correct location.
3. What might others not realise about your job or department?
Many people only see that the material arrives at the machine exactly when it’s needed. However, they often don’t realise how much work goes on behind the scenes. The material is spread throughout the hall, across various sectors and on different shelves, and finding it sometimes requires a thorough search.
4. Who do you work with most often during the day, and why them in particular?
We work most often with machine operators and colleagues from internal logistics. Thanks to regular communication, we’re able to react quickly to changes and ensure the smooth running of production.
5. Have you ever had a working day when something went wrong? What was it like?
Yes, such situations do occur from time to time. Most often, they involve unexpected changes to production schedules or situations where materials need to be located and delivered urgently.
6. What could you not do without in your job?
Definitely the company’s application for recording and tracking materials, and QR code scanners.
