Maintaining a comfortable temperature in the hall during the summer heat and winter frosts is no easy task. One of the factors that significantly affected the temperature was the roof skylights.
In summer, heat entered the hall through them; in winter, on the other hand, there were higher heat losses.
We covered and insulated the first two skylights last year as part of the installation of a new ventilation system. This year, we continued with this work and covered a further 18 skylights over the summer.
The work was carried out mainly during the production shutdown to minimise the impact on operations. The work was also affected by the weather. When working on the roof, it was necessary to ensure that rain did not leak into the hall. Workers also had to cope with high summer temperatures.
The result is a more continuous and better-insulated roof. Together with the modernisation of the ventilation system, this modification will help us maintain a more stable temperature throughout the year, improve staff comfort and, at the same time, use energy more efficiently.
