Dear Finidr colleagues,

As a business owner, I too have my concerns. I am not afraid of competition, new technologies or artificial intelligence. I consider the real threat to be the moment when we become content with the phrase: ‘But we’ve always done it this way. Why should we change anything?’ Because that is precisely when a business begins to grow old.

The greatest risk to FINIDR would not be a bad investment or a project that fails. Mistakes are part of business and part of life, and they often teach us more than our successes do. A far greater mistake would be to think that we already know everything, can do everything, and have nowhere left to go.

People ask whether machines will one day replace us. I don’t think machines will replace people any time soon. However, we will make ever more intensive use of technology, automation and artificial intelligence. They will help us work faster and better, and relieve us of some of the monotonous work.

One thing, however, I know for certain: people who do not want to learn can be replaced by people who do want to learn.

None of us needs to know everything. Nobody needs to be able to do everything straight away. The important thing is not to hide what we cannot do, but to have the courage to say to ourselves: ‘I can’t do that yet, but I want to learn how.’

And that is precisely where I see our great opportunity. At FINIDR, we have experience, modern technology and, above all, capable people. We have, on many occasions, achieved things that initially seemed too bold or too difficult. We achieved them because we weren’t afraid to take a step forward.

We don’t have to be perfect. However, we must remain curious, open to change and willing to learn. Each and every one of us. Every day.

If we don’t lose this courage, we need not fear the future. After all, FINIDR’s future will not be shaped by machines or artificial intelligence.

We will shape it ourselves.
