FROM FINIDRÁK’S DIARY

Every person who starts a new job brings a story with them. Mine didn’t begin the moment I first walked through the doors of FINIDR.

It began much earlier.

A few years ago, my life was turned upside down in an instant. My son Benediktek passed away. And just as I was slowly learning to live with the pain, another loss came two years later—my mother passed away.

There are times when a person doesn’t need advice. They need time. I needed a lot of it.

I stayed home for six years. Not just for myself, but also for my younger daughter, who was also learning to live with loss. During that time, writing became a form of therapy for me. Every sentence I wrote was a small step forward. It helped me bring order to my thoughts and find light again where I hadn’t seen it in a long time.

And then one day, I felt that the time had come to open the door. To return to the world.

While I was looking for a job, I came across a job posting from FINIDR. I don’t know why, but the printing press immediately caught my attention. I was fascinated by the idea of seeing the entire story of a book even before the first reader opens it.

Today I know that a book isn’t created in a matter of minutes.

It’s created by people.

By the hands that carefully guide it from the very first sheet of paper to the moment it’s ready to go out into the world.

And maybe that’s exactly why I appreciate every book a little more today than I did before. Not just because I love to read.

But because I know the work that goes into every single page.

I came to FINIDR to learn how books are made. I never would have dreamed that this is where I would begin writing the next chapter of my own life.

I used to write just to survive. Today, I help produce books so that others can read their stories. Life sometimes has a strange way of coming full circle.

Every journey leads somewhere
