Sometimes it only takes a little to make a big change. And that’s exactly what happened thanks to a group of Finidraks who joined the premiere event Clean up FINIDR, which we organized as part of the nationwide project Clean up the Czech Republic.
It was our premiere, but definitely not our last! Your participation, commitment and willingness to help showed that we are not indifferent to the common environment. That we want to work and move in a clean, pleasant environment. And that we can do something for it in our free time – with a good mood and a good group.
How did the event go?
The participants of the event divided into smaller groups and started cleaning selected places in the printing plant and its immediate surroundings. And there was a lot to clean! In about two and a half hours we managed to collect everything from packaging, plastics, PET bottles and cans to glass bottles and cigarette butts, which were really abundant around the parking lot.
The result?
An almost full container of collected waste!
In addition to the great feeling of a job well done, this event brought a novel form of teambuilding across departments. We often pass each other at work, and here we had the opportunity to join forces on something meaningful. And when we lit a fire after work and enjoyed a delicious scrambled eggs together, it was the icing on the cake of the day.
The Earth is not a basket
While it may sound like a platitude, we believe that every little step counts. It is by making sure that the rubbish ends up in the bin and not on the ground that we help to create a slightly better and nicer environment, and not just around FINIDR.
To keep things tidy in the future, we will soon be adding new bins in the car park for litter and cigarette butts.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our premiere cleanup! Your positive feedback made us happy and assured us that this event was definitely not the last and we hope to see even more of you next time.
What do you say, shall we do it again in the autumn?
