Our printery played a big role again at the Czech Bestseller Awards. Not only because we were the main partner of the event and presented one of the awards, but also because the nominations included books produced in our company.
For the 26th year, the Czech Bestseller Awards honoured the most successful books that were among the bestsellers in the KNIHCENTRUM bookstore in 2024. The awards were given out at the Ostrava House of Books in a total of eight categories. The ninth category, “Readers’ Prize”, was determined by the readers themselves through voting.
This year’s main prize and the Czech Bestseller award went to the writer Karin Lednicka for the third volume of her novel chronicle Šikmý kostel: léta 1945-1961 (Bílá Vrána publishing house).
This moment was all the more special because the award was presented directly to Ms Lednická by Jirka Matuszek, our salesman for the Czech market.
And it didn’t end there!
Among the other nominated books, other titles printed in our printery were also among the winners.
In the category of Cookbooks – Buchty po ránu 2 (Josef Maršálek, Tereza Bebarová, publisher: Czech Television)
In the category of Biography – Objektivní nález: Moje nejtěžší mise (Tomáš Šebek, publisher: Paseka)
The imaginary final point was the victory of Kroniky beskydských draků (Jan Tkáč, publisher: Tajemné Beskydy) in the Readers’ Choice Award, which was decided in a public vote.
Congratulations to all authors and publishers!
