Hello, dear big Finidr family,
I want to thank you again from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for my daughter. Kiki underwent 12 series of radiation treatments in June in Brno and her older brother Samko spent this time with us.
Thanks to all of you, I was able to make the stay more pleasant for both children. We spent our free afternoon time at the cinema, walking around Brno, shopping at the toy store and even visited the Planet of Fun park where they both really enjoyed themselves.
After the end of the treatment, Kiki and her siblings were able to go to a camp organized by Haima Ostrava. After returning from the camp, we were able to go on various trips. We even went to the zoo in Wroclaw, Poland. We visited a number of swimming pools and water parks. All four children and we adults had a great time.
We spent a week in Slovakia with my husband’s mother. On this occasion we visited Bojnice Castle and the adjacent zoo. We also tested the local thermal swimming pool and it was TOP!
Kiki and her siblings simply had all their modest childhood dreams come true.
And why am I writing all this to you? Because thanks to you, we were able to experience unforgettable moments with Kiki as a family and enjoy them. For that, we owe you a huge thank you.
The holidays are over and Kiki had a check-up in Brno, from where we unfortunately did not bring good news. The tumour remains the same, the radiation did not help and it is still 40% bigger than its original size. In addition, it turned out that her heart was starting to have problems. Finally, she was diagnosed with another disease: severe asthma.
Therefore, Kiki has to inhale with any effort, even minimal.
But we’ll get through it all and we’ll fight. Our new motto is: “To fill her head with as much knowledge as possible so that the tumor will have no place and disappear.” That’s why Kiki started going to school for a few hours in September, health permitting. Everyone at school praises her, she brings home straight A’s and her knowledge is growing. I believe that we will win our fight too.
I follow you on Facebook and every time I see a new post, I remember the unforgettable evening we were able to spend with you. Thank you all so much.
Mommy Elizabeth
P.S.: I also used the proceeds to buy yarn and crochet Christmas elves for the sick children of Haima. It was a form of therapy for me and I believe the children were happy with the elves.
